An exciting opportunity has become available to join our fantastic team as our Training Manager. We are looking for a highly experienced and enthusiastic professional who is keen to take on a stimulating role that will support us in shaping the future of our award-winning business.

We are looking for someone who is creative and forward thinking in their training process. At Right at Home we only recruit passionate likeminded individuals who genuinely want to offer the best quality service at all times. Therefore, we are looking for an individual who will put time and effort in to finding and developing these key qualities in every new member of our team.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Undertake Induction Training for our new starters every other week on an ongoing basis ensuring it is in line with the Social Care Wales Induction Framework requirements and our training plan.
  • Hold Induction Training including Moving and Handling, First Aid, Medication, Dementia Awareness, Food hygiene, Infection control etc.
  • At the end of each day of training to print off certificates ready for filing and update our system People Planner for each new starter for the training completed.
  • Update spreadsheet for competency checklist for each new starter so that this can then be worked on during your Administration week.
  • Chase up progress on Competency checklists with those who are now working in the community from previous Induction training weeks.
  • Contacting new starters towards the end of this week to ensure that thy are progressing with their checklists and to chase them up to get this task completed.
  • Offering additional support and guidance if a new starter is struggling.
  • Identify all refresher training needs and book individuals, liaising with coordinators and Managers for the best time to hold the sessions.
  • Ensure all training – both induction and refresher is updated on People Planner as training occurs and then overview of what is outstanding.
  • All certificates for refresher training held in to be printed as training occurs, put onto People Planner and then filed in relevant carer folder.
  • To send SurveyMonkey questionnaires to all carers about their training needs, training aspirations, where they are with things and to give you feedback for training ideas/innovations etc.
  • Update the Online requirements for the modules on My Learning Cloud and check and touch base on progress with all new and existing staff members and feedback to RM.

The ideal candidate will be..

  • Fully flexible and willing to assist at weekends when there is a need and requirement to do so as part of the office support team.
  • Available to work full time Monday to Friday, and office support 1 x weekend in a 4-week period – 7am to 1pm or 4pm as and when needed.
  • Ambitious, driven and always willing to go above and beyond.
  • A team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Experienced within the Health and Social Care sector, with a good understanding of training requirements within a domiciliary care setting.
